Los Liones Trail

I thought this view was much more captivating than a super bowl match surrounded by red plastic cups of beer … but then again,

I don’t have a television or plastic cups, so this decision was a pretty easy one to make…

What a marvelous hike this was! This is now one of my favorite places in la la land.

You can see LA, Palos Verdes & Catalina Island at the same time.

Mr. Bond and I even saw a deer crossing the trail right in front of us.

just taking it all in

if only benches could talk...

I can't believe such stillness and beauty lives next door to la vida loca of sleepless LA.

humbled, i stood before Nature..

Sense of time was lost & night was found..

If you ever do go there closer to the night or really early in the morning, make sure to hike with a group of friends. When you are by yourself or just the 2 of you..try to leave before darkness…

The moon was our best friend..

We were the only ones on our walk back. It was getting chilly and really dark. I’ll be honest;

I felt shaken and uneasy by the fact that I heard something moving along the trail in the bushes next to us… as we were walking… it was just a step behind us..

Even though it was a scary moment at the very end, I’m so glad I went!…

but on my next visit, I’ll try to leave before the darkness of the night takes its reign…

especially when the hike goes by the name of

” Liones ” …

“When we get out of the glass bottles of our ego,
and when we escape like squirrels turning in the
cages of our personality
and get into the forests again,
we shall shiver with cold and fright
but things will happen to us
so that we don’t know ourselves.
Cool, unlying life will rush in”  ~ D. H. Lawrence
