I’m in love with Bali! Taken away by the peacefulness and the proud stillness of this beautiful land. Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, I stand weightless in solitude, silence and in ” just be ” of this moment. Without phone, tv or pc, one, starts to really hear his soul and his whole being becomes free and light. I loved exploring Bali with it’s amazing people, musical and artistic culture, sacred traditions and healing powers of this magical place. I left a big part of my heart here and took part of it’s magic with me forever!
- Stayed at an amazing place, sorrounded by nature.
- Mind-Body-Soul experiences
- Children of Sedemen helped me cross river
3 Angels of Sedemen
- Did “Melukat” with locals ( Cleansing Ceremony )
Me during ” Melukat “. This ceremony aims to cleanse and purify the human body and soul and to avoid havoc, bad luck and sickness.
- Tried World’s most expensive coffee Kopi Luwak
- Tried Ginseng coffee at the coffee plantation and got addicted to it
- Saw Kecak Dance
Men chanting during “Kecak” dance.
- Swam and played with Dolphin ( otherworldly! )
Shall we dance?
- Was given a ride by an Elephant
We’re both playing harmonica
- Got up close and personal with Monkeys of The Monkey Forest in Ubud
“When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.” – D. H. Lawrence
Yes, they are real..
Bliss
- Skinny dipping in the Ocean and Waterfall
Into The Wild
- Watched Cremation Ceremony
One of the most spectacular ceremonies in Bali is probably the cremation ceremony. In Balinese this ceremony is called Ngaben.
- Visited Balinese Healer ( A singular experience! )
Amazing Balinese healer Tjokorda Gede Rai
- Got tangled up with Python
There’s nothing to worry about! Really, it’s only a Python..
- Got a blessing from local Priest by the holly springs at the 15th Century Tanah Lot Sanctuary
Tanah Lot Temple Blessing
- Got lost and ended up by the house where black magic is performed ( I could sense the weird energy around it )
Black magic house in Sedemen.
- Got a special Balinese bracelet and necklace made by my new friends for luck and to keep bad karma away
- Visited several Temples and Holly Springs
Tanah Lot Temple
Holly Springs. “Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” – Cesare Pavese
“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” – Martin Buber
- Had a toast to my dad ( 8 years since he passed away )
- Playing hide and seek with nature
- Completely lost sense of time
- Remembering, Healing, Forgetting
- Becoming ONE with nature
“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.” – Lao Tzu
- It’s liberating being timeless, weightless and endless
- “Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” – Pat Conroy

Love the pictures. Am a bit jealous of the amount you’ve travelled. But my time will come, I suppose.
Also, I am curious about how a dolphin feels. Full of love, I presume.
Keep having fun!
awesome!! :)
I’ve been to Bali many times, usually just to get away from the city (Jakarta) , enjoy the food and sunbathing by the beach. Really need to start exploring Bali, you’ve experienced many different sides of Bali that I’ve never explored. Beautiful pictures too…
I love this post :) I am currently planning my trip to Bali and you’ve gotten me really excited and also given me a few ideas on the experiences I’d love to have. Do you have other tips / info to share on how I can do this. Dolphins are in Lovina? What about the Elephant ? I’m petrified of monkeys – LOL, have a few where I live alreay.
Verynice report, good souvenir for me

Bali is only “a” part of my country Elena. :) there’s a LOT of Beautiful, un-touched places all over Indonesia. :))
Thank you for Visiting & Write about my country Elena. :)) Come again.. you’ll Always Welcome.
[…] Reconnecting with your inner-self in Bali is like being born again, but having local children draw you beautiful drawings for you to take home, is not something you can get at an all inclusive […]

Excellent photographs by you ! You even taught the locals to take good pictures :)
Love your blog Elana. Uou inspire me to be even more of who I AM :) I too adore Bali — thank you for sharing your experience so I could re-live it! :-)
Bali looks great, thanks for sharing your experiences.
Hi Elena, your Bali experience is really thorough. Even, I have not experienced swimming with the dolphin :). By the way, the name of the dance should be ‘Kecak’ instead of ‘Kekak’. Keep traveling and writing! you’re great!
thank you! will correct it!
where is the waterfall in the picture? it is so gorgeous
Northern Bali. don’t remember the exact place.
Now this is a Bali I would love to discover! It looks truly stunning Elena!
Thank you! maybe you can give it a second chance sometime! ; )

Helo Elena.. Nice Pics.. bali is a wonderful island..
don’t forget to visit to other island in indonesia n make artistic pics..
Totally loving your work here!
I love your sense of adventure and admire people who travel so freely. I’m one of the fussiest travelers and this has been my life’s goal to get over. To think that I literally can see Indonesia from my window, it’s a place I have not even visited :/ Your life serves as a reminder to keep moving — and just do it :)
You are a true citizen of the world…….you inspire and amaze through your willingness to approach all that life has to offer with open arms.
Thank you for such an amazing compliment! ; ) and thank you for reading me!

Lucky u!

I’m heading to Bali this July! Your post just got me even more excited :)
You’re gonna have a great time! Bon Voyage! : )
What a beautiful post. I have really wanted to travel to Bali for nearly two years now. Can you give me any tips or guidance where to start? <3
Thank you. You can click on the link to the place where I was staying.. “Nirarta” it’s really amazing and not too expensive either. Also it’s better to hire a driver with a car while you are in Bali.. ( it cost me 50$ for a whole day .. 2 years ago ) I highly recommend him – http://www.facebook.com/BaliDriverTeam?v=info. Do some research on internet or my post about what you want to see while you are there and let Abas know, so he can help you make it happen. Don’t pay 150 euros for a “Melukat” ceremony which hotels sell you.. it cost me 3 dollars entry fee into the temple and I did it with local people, not other 20 tourists. Don’t over plan.. just go with the flow.
Have a great adventure.

PS
I am so impressed with your yoga poses in the photos. My favorite though is that one where you did a warrior pose with sunset in the background. That’s breathtaking.
Now wonder, Bali is considered by Ketut (the guru in the movie EAT, PRAY, LOVE) the center of the earth. Looks really magical. There’s something in this place that globetrotters around the world were never failed to be astounded by its magical environment based on what I read from an array of posts here, especially those from my blogging friends.
Agree, Bali is magical.. it’s just something about that place that’s so different then any other in the world.. It has healed me in a lot of ways ..
love & light
